Diseases
Illnesses are tracked per save: you can have several active at once. Each night, the health system:
- Deals damage for every active illness (how hard it hits depends on your age and how severe that disease is)
- Rolls for a cure if a doctor has identified what you have
- May add new diseases based on age-weighted chances
How you get sick
New conditions are picked from illnesses you do not already have. Risk goes up with:
- Age — older characters face higher chance and often worse symptoms
- Per-disease tuning — some bugs are simply rarer or meaner than others
When you catch something, you usually get a popup message specific to that illness.
What “active” means
Each active illness is tracked until it is cured. The game remembers whether a doctor has diagnosed it.
Until you are under proper medical identification, automatic nightly cure rolls do not run (except for the witch potion shortcut below).
Treatment options
| Path | What happens |
|---|---|
| See a doctor | At a hospital or prison clinic: the doctor marks every current illness as diagnosed so cure rolls can start |
| Daily cure chance | After diagnosis, each night the game rolls a per-disease cure chance; success removes that illness |
| Witch potion | A usable item from the witch house — clears your whole active illness list right away (often gem-priced in the market) |
info
The prison clinic uses the same see doctor style care as the city hospital — you are not locked out of diagnosis while sentenced.
Gameplay advice
- Visit a hospital soon after you keep getting sick prompts — untreated illnesses stack their nightly damage.
- If you are broke, try to rebuild money before bad luck stacks illness on top of job loss.
- The witch potion is a panic button with a gem cost; compare to Hospital vs witch.
warnung
Illness damage scales with age. Long lives need regular doctor visits, not “I’ll tough it out one more day.”
