Relationships guide
People are systems: they gate actions, trigger events, and change how risky choices play out. Life Simulator Reloaded groups NPC ties into categories, then tracks how strong and how positive each bond is.
Relationship categories
| Category | Role |
|---|---|
| FAMILY | Parents, siblings, relatives—baseline support network and story hooks. |
| LOVE | Romantic partners; marriage-style titles and intimate interactions. |
| FRIENDS | Social circle outside work; parties, favors, emotional backup. |
| CO_WORKER | Colleagues; can shift toward friendship through shared actions. |
| JAIL | Inmates and prison-specific NPCs when you are serving time (crime module). |
Categories decide which actions appear and which events can fire—not every NPC can be handled the same way.
Statuses: love, friendship, hate
Bonds are not binary. Alongside category, you will see relationship flavor such as:
- Love — romantic depth; often paired with the LOVE category.
- Friendship — trust and warmth; common in FRIENDS and can grow from CO_WORKER.
- Hate — hostility; unlocks confrontations, sabotage, or avoidance paths.
Moving someone from neutral to friend (or rival) usually takes repeated interactions: gifts, shared activities, supporting them in decisions, or choosing dialogue-aligned actions when offered.
Coworkers → friends: The game can promote a colleague into the FRIENDS category after enough positive social actions—useful for both morale and job events.
Building romance
- Invest time and appropriate actions (dates, gifts, supportive choices).
- Use the Dating App (18+, requires a mobile phone) to swipe through profiles and find romantic matches quickly.
- Watch for blocking statuses (e.g. existing partner rules); some paths require clearing or accepting consequences.
- LOVE category NPCs often tie into family planning and long-term story beats—pace your career stress so you can afford the social maintenance.
Family management
Family members anchor early game tutorials and mid-game obligations (events, money asks, emotional swings). Keeping morale and money buffers helps you say “yes” to family moments without tanking your meters.
Jail relationships
Behind bars, JAIL NPCs mesh with prison reputation and fight/interaction systems. Allies can open safer choices; enemies increase tension. Treat prison as its own social graph—your yard cred matters as much as your cell routine.
Keeping relationships healthy
- Interact regularly — neglected NPCs drift or trigger negative events.
- Match gifts and actions to what the character cares about (job, hobbies, story flags).
- Avoid stacking betrayals — hate status is harder to unwind than friendship is to build.
- Recover your own meters first; a depleted character picks worse social options.
If a relationship menu feels quiet, change location or advance the day—many social hooks are tied to place and calendar, not a single screen.
NPC names and scenes vary by module; categories and rules stay consistent.
